Geotechnical Monitoring of Works

We provide geotechnical monitoring of foundation or geotechnical works in general (landfills, paving, containment and geotechnical tests), focusing on considering design premises and verifying the adequacy of services with standards, technical manuals and execution facilities.

Site visits are carried out with the aim of guiding teams executing geotechnical or foundation services to comply with design requirements, technical standards and quality control. The analyses are carried out by two responsible engineers, one of whom is external to Fountest Engenharia and is a specialist in the type of service under study.

In driver control we indicate and analyze dynamic load tests and/or static load tests to provide parameters for the consultancy. Load capacity, occurrence of breaks or damage, stresses during driving, hammer performance, NSPT soundings, number of blows, calibrations, denial and rebound of all piles are analyzed, following the standards NBR 13208:2007 – Piles – Dynamic loading test, ASTM D4945-17 Standard Test Method for High-Strain Dynamic Testing of Deep Foundations, NBR 16903:2020 – Soil – Static Load Test in Deep Foundations, NBR 6122:2019 – Design and execution of foundations, NBR16258:2014 Precast Concrete Piles – Requirements, NBR9062 Design and Execution of Precast Concrete Structures, NBR6118:2014 Design of Concrete Structures, among others relevant to the service under study.

Excavation control is carried out in a similar way, considering data on overconsumption, quotas, occurrence of difficulties in excavation and mainly the monitoring report of continuous helix piles, information that is often overlooked, but contains valuable data on the execution of the pile.

The products of this service are the daily work reports and the Geotechnical Work Monitoring report, which comments on nonconformities and solutions adopted, the methods used in the analyses and the load capacity calculated for each pile analyzed.
